Governor El-Rufai Accused of Paying Killer Fulani Herdsmen Finally Speaks

Governor Nasir El-Rufai has said he has no hand in the killing of innocent Christians in the Southern part of Kaduna by Fulani herdsmen.

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, on Tuesday portrayed those connecting him with killings in Southern part of the state as insidiousness producers, reports The Nation.

As per El-Rufai, he is neither a religious extremist nor ethnic jingoist who will sort out emergency in his state. The Governor however approached the Federal Government to give more subsidizes to the security organizations to empower them suitably handle interior security challenges.

While talking when he got the Senate Ad-hoc Committee on Southern Kaduna Crisis at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House on Tuesday, the Governor informed the Senate Committee drove by previous Governor of Kano State, Kabir G.aya, and said his legislature acquired three fundamental issues of cows stirring, urban posse called "Shara Suka" and common killings.

The Governor had been blamed by Apostle Johnson Suleman for protecting Fulani herders who have been killing honest residents in Southern Kaduna. The Governor was likewise blamed for paying the executioner herders cash with a specific end goal to stop the killings which many condemned him for as they demanded he ought to have given the executioners to the police.

He stated, "When we came in we met three primary issues on ground, cows stirring, urban pack and collective killings.

"As the main security officer of the state, we truly don't have control over the security organizations, we have conferred such a great amount in financing security offices in the state. We have purchased projectile confirmation vest and vans for security organizations. We have conferred N4 billion in support of security organizations in the state.

"The state government will keep on supporting the security offices in the state despite the fact that it is the duty of the government."

He, in any case, required extra support for security organizations in the 2017 spending plan, saying, "there is requirement for preparing and retraining of security work force and the buy of extra security hardware."

On the Southern Kaduna killings, the Governor guaranteed the Senate that he would send assets to encourage the take-off of the proposed military battalion in the territory.
