Sir John Hurt, who featured in The Elephant Man and Harry Potter, passes on matured 77 after a fight with disease as tributes pour into 'the most courteous of honorable men.'
Sir John Hurt, who won Oscar selections for the Elephant Man and caught the hearts of millions for his parts in Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, has kicked the bucket.
The star, one of Britain's most prized on-screen characters, passed on matured 77 at his home in Norfolk after a long fight with pancreatic tumor, it was uncovered today.
His dowager, Anwen Hurt, today said it will be 'an interesting world' without the performing artist, whose passing has incited an overflowing of pain from the showbusiness business, with executive Mel Brooks and J K Rowling among those paying tribute.
Mrs Hurt included: 'John was the most radiant of performing artists and the most noble of honorable men with the best of hearts and the most liberality of soul. He touched every one of our lives with euphoria and enchantment and it will be a peculiar world without him.'
Sir John was notable for parts incorporating Quentin Crisp in The Nakked Civil Servant, the title part in The Elephant Man and wand shipper Mr Ollivander in the Harry Potter movies.
Harmed, whose demise was affirmed by his specialist Charles McDonald on Saturday, is made due by spouse Anwen Rees-Myers, and children, Alexander and Nick, from his third marriage with Jo Dalton.
He passed on Wednesday, January 25, yet had been chipping away at various movies set for discharge this year.
